LifeSkills Academie is Recognized by Parenting 2.0

I am very excited to announce that Sandi MacCalla, the Founder of LifeSkills Academiehas been designated as a Global Presence Ambassador by Parenting 2.0 for her pioneering work in the area of social skills. As the world becomes more complex, we are all in need of a good foundation regarding social skills. It has become increasingly important for children to learn the life skills they need to navigate the world and flourish in their endeavors.

You can test your own Life Skills by clicking here on Life Skills Report Card.  As a teacher and author of Sammy the Centipede Goes to the Market  where children learn good nutrition choices, I am so pleased to be part of LifeSkills Academie where we make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.

The Food Explorers Club for 1st to 3rd Grade Students

We’re proud to announce this new program beginning Thursday, July 12th. This program is being taught by our own Maria Luchsinger, who is a teacher and the author of the book Sammy the Centipede Goes to the Market , which she will use in her classes.

Each class will have a core concept relating to breakfast, snacks, lunch or dinner. Students will explore the various departments of the  Lynnwood Whole Foods Market with their magnifying glasses to get a better look at labels.  These young explorers will learn how to make their own menus using the My Chart curriculum from the USDA. They will do food experiments and taste testing and end the hour with a delicious snack.

Registration and information is available at LifeSkills Academie.
